Alex
MacCulloch PT BSc,BScPT, CredMDT, MCPA
Alex completed his undergraduate degree in microbiology at
Dalhousie
University in Halifax in 1983, and continued on to Dalhousie's physical
therapy program which he graduated from in 1986. Alex received his
credentials in mechanical diagnosis and therapy of the spine from the
McKenzie Institute International in 1997 - one of the first in Canada.
He was NCCP certified in 1999 for Intermediate Level Coaching, and HTCP
certified in 1999 as a level II hockey trainer. Alex has been a member
of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association since 1993, belonging to the
orthopaedic and sports physiotherapy divisions.
Alex is devoted to a fitness lifestyle which includes
running, weight
lifting and hockey. His most recent athletic accomplishment was the
Boston Marathon. He derives much enjoyment from the treatment of
athletic injuries and is the team physiotherapist for the Whitby
Warriors Lacrosse team, and the Oshawa Generals hockey team. He has
treated high level and professional athletes from over a wide range of
sports. As a credentialed McKenzie Diagnostic Therapist (CredMDT) he
has successfully treated a multitude of spinal complaints and embraces
the challenges involved with this category of clientelle.
Shirley Magee PT BScPT, CredMDT, MCPA
Shirley received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
from
Queen's University in 1991 and began her career at the Hospital for
Sick Children in Toronto, spent two years in the heart and lung
transplant program in Edmonton before joining Great Lakes. She has been
a member of the CPA and its orthopaedic division since 1991, and holds
an adjunct staff position at Queen's University for teaching Physical
Therapy students. Shirley received credentials from the McKenzie
Institute International in mechanical diagnosis and treatment of the
spine in 1998 and holds level 1 with the Acupuncture Foundation of
Canada Institute. Her postgraduate courses include extensive work in
manual therapy and medical exercise therapy. She especially enjoys
working with spinal dysfunction, muscle balance retraining, and
treatment of sports injuries. She has chosen now to limit her practice
to sports injuries, and orthopaedic conditions, and enjoys running,
pilates, and volunteer work.
Janice Eveleigh PT BSc,BScPT, CredMDT, CAFCI, MCPA
Janice is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a
bachelor of
science in human physiology and physics, and continued on through the
faculty of medicine to complete her degree in physical
therapy from U of T graduating in 1992. She received
her
credentials in mechanical diagnosis and treatment of the spine in 1999
through the McKenzie Institute International, one of only 55 in Canada
at the time. She received her certificate in acupuncture from the
Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute in 1997. Her postgraduate
studies have included extensive work in manual therapy, taping,
craniomandibular disorders, M.E.T. (medical exercise therapy) and the
treatment of golf related injuries.
Janice has been voted "Best Physiotherapist" by the local
News
Advertiser and has been a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy
association since 1992, belonging to the orthopaedic, sports
physiotherapy and private practice divisions. She has chosen to limit
her practice to orthopaedic conditions, sports injuries, and
motor
vehicle accident injuries, and has special interest in skiing, snow
boarding, weight training, golfing, and scuba diving.
Ivan Nicoloff PT H.BSc, MSc. PT, MCPA
Ivan
received his
Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Biology from the University of
Toronto in 2006 and went on to complete his Master’s of
Science
in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2009. He has been a
member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association since 2007, and is
currently a member of the orthopaedic and neurosciences
divisions. Ivan has been an active member of the martial arts
community in the Greater Toronto Area since 2003 and has an interest in
orthopaedic and sports injuries.
Vickie Grierson PT BScPT, CredMDT, MCPA
Vickie completed her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
from University of
Western Ontario in 1994 and spent her early career developing her
expertise at
St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener and the Westminster Orthopaedic
Rehabilitation
Centre in London. She received her credentials in mechanical diagnosis
and
treatment of the spine in 1999 through the McKenzie Institute
International,
one of only 55 in Canada. Vickie
has
taken postgraduate courses in manual therapy, neural dynamics and has
completed
Level 2 Kinesiotaping. She is certified as a level 2 Hockey Trainer
through the
HTCP, and is currently the head trainer of the Clarington Flames Peewee
BB
hockey team. In
addition, Vickie manages
the Clarington Gaels Peewee Girls Lacrosse team, and keeps active with
Pilates,
volleyball and gardening. Vickie has been voted "Best
Physiotherapist"
by the local paper and limits her practice to orthopaedics and sports
injuries.
Greg
Greirson PT BScPT, CredMDT, MCPA
Greg earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in
1993 from
the University of Western Ontario. He has hospital experience from St.
Joseph's Hospital in London and has worked in a multidisciplinary
clinic in the Durham region prior to joining the Great Lakes
Physiotherapy group of clinics He has also been voted "Best
Physiotherapist" by the local News Advertiser and he limits
his
practice to orthopaedic conditions and sports injuries. Greg takes
special interest in hockey, weight training, golf and fishing.
CHRISTIN
GRAY, RMT Registered Massage Therapist, Doula
Christin
graduated in 2009 from the massage therapy program at Algonquin
College. Christin has a deep passion for massage and manual
manipulation. She strives to make each treatment specific to the
clients needs and takes time to educate each client about their body.
She believes with knowledge and the right tools that clients can become
more aware of their bodies and take a more hands on approach in their
own care. Once out of school she decided to focus more
specifically on prenatal massage, but still enjoys working with a
variety of conditions. In 2009 she completed training with
Doulas of North America and is working towards becoming a certified
doula and using her knowledge of massage to help women in labour.
Christin has experience with a broad range of conditions from disc
herniations to stress, but considers her strengths neurological
disorders, deep tissue treatments and prenatal massage. Outside
of the clinic Christin enjoys camping, cycling and baking.
